Deeper

Deeper is our group for 18-21 year olds.  We aim to help people make the transition from being part of a youth group to being fully involved in the church.

Our goals are:

- to help 18-21 year olds grow deeper in their knowledge of and love for Jesus, as we try 'to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ' (Ephesians 3:18);

- to help people take responsibility for their own spiritual growth through bible study and prayer;

- to support those at university in living and speaking for Jesus.

As several Deeper members are away from Oxford at university during term-time, we mainly meet in the uni holidays, on Sunday evenings straight after The Gathering.  We encourage everyone to come to The Gathering and be part of the wider church.

We also encourage people to regularly meet up one-to-one with an older Christian, to talk through the joys and struggles of being a Christian and to look at the Bible and pray together.

For students who are studying in Oxford, we strongly encourage them to take an active part in their university Christian Union and to be involved in the life of the church through Sunday services and in other ways, as they have the time.
