Churches working together in Oxford to lift people out of debt
Find out more about the Oxford Churches Debt Centre which has been open since June 2014 and how you can get involved.
Christians Against Poverty are a national charity, working across the UK to lift people out of debt and poverty. They offer free debt counselling through a network of 303 debt centres based in local churches. They’re halfway towards setting up debt centres in every town in the UK, and Oxford has its own service, the Oxford Churches Debt Centre
OCDC is run by 5 partner churches (St Clements Church, St Matthews Church, Cowley Church Community, Emmanuel Church and Headington Baptist Church) and 3 associate partner churches.
At MRC, we are one of the 3 associate partner churches, alongside Cornerstone Church and Wheatley Community Church. Partner and associate partner churches are committed to giving financially and to raising up volunteers from their church families who will get behind the vision in prayer; give financially, and volunteer time to help out on a regular basis and visit homes across Oxford.
If you're interested in getting involved, talk to MRC's CAP Reps Tom and Elli Sharpe
