Live Nativity

Saturday 5th December 10am-1pm

A local tradition, our live nativity comes to East Oxford on the first
Saturday in December. The Bethlehem Inn at The Old Schoolhouse) will be open for business from 10am-1pm, with the opportunity for children to meet the animals in the stable outside (courtesy of Chloe's Mobile Farm), and engage in all sorts of Christmas fun indoors (crafts, face painting, etc).  Lovely home-made cakes, hot drinks, and toddler-friendly healthy snacks will be served throughout.  At the heart of this event will be a live-action retelling of the nativity story featuring a donkey as well as the usual nativity characters and some sing-along carols. We’d love children to dress up as their favourite nativity character and join in with us as we re-tell the Christmas story. A great event to invite friends with children aged 8 and younger too.

 Family Carol Service

  13th December 10:30am

A family friendly carol service for all ages. There will be opportunities for young and old to engage and interact as we consider the good news of Christmas together and sing some well-known and loved carols!  Invite your friends with or without school aged children. Mince pies and refreshments to finish.

 Christmas Explored

  Sunday 13th 7:00pm

The Christmas story – did it really happen? Can we believe it? What does it mean for us?

Come and join us at the Old Schoolhouse for an evening exploring the Christmas story.
 

 Lunchtime Carols

  Thursday 17th 1:00-1:30pm

New this year – a short 30-minute carol service at 1pm on Thursday 17th December. Carols, Christmas readings, and a short thought for Christmas.
Mince pies and refreshments afterwards. A lunch break with a difference - come and join us!
 

 Traditional Carol Service
 21st December 6:30pm

Come and join us in what we hope will be a lovely, darkly lit, cosy atmosphere for a traditional candle-lit carol service. We’ll sing carols, hear the Bible account of the first Christmas, and hear a talk on the message of Christmas.

Mince pies and refreshments will be served afterwards.

 Christmas Morning Service

Everyone’s welcome to our short Christmas morning service at 10:30 as we celebrate the birth of Jesus together.  It will be family-friendly, upbeat, encouraging, thought-provoking, and finished within the hour!
